Airline transport pilots once properly qualified are eligible to be paid for the operation of aircraft while transporting people or property. Successfully obtaining the airline transport certification will require a great deal of time and effort by the applicant.
The limitations, ratings, restrictions and requirements to obtain an airline transport pilot certification are set forth by the FAA and are as follows:
A commercial pilot certification has many more limitations than the sport pilot, the recreational pilot and the private pilot, but has many more restrictions that must be followed. The commercial pilot is allowed to be compensated for operating an aircraft while carrying people and/or property. To obtain this certification the applicant will be required to log classroom time and many hours of flight time covering several disciplines.
